French baker Olivier Monsieur is making the world’s first wooden spoon cakes in his home town of Lille.
The bread and butter is made with a special mixture of dried fruits and nuts, which make for a deliciously moist and tasty cake.
The baker says his creation is “an expression of gratitude for the gift of the human spirit,” and he hopes that the bread and the chocolate will inspire people to make the same type of cake again.
Monsieurs family made the first wooden spoons in 2006.
He says his family loves the product, and he plans to continue making the spoon cakes after his current bakery closes down in 2017.
A few years ago, Monsieres family started baking wooden spooncakes and cakes made of wood, but the recipe for the new wood spoon cake is very simple.
The dough is mixed with water and flour and then mixed with baking powder.
The resulting dough is then ground up into a coarse flour and a mix of other ingredients.
The final product is then placed in a baking pan, covered with a baking mat, and baked for about 90 minutes, according to Monsieures website.
Monsieurs wooden spooncake recipe is also very similar to the one that French pastry chef Pierre de Vaux created for the pastry shop La Boulangerie de Pompidou in 2011.
Monsierres family says their new wood spoons are better because they don’t need as much flour.
The wooden spoon has been made in France for more than 50 years, but this is the first time that Monsieires family has been able to bring this to the U.S.
